Contrastive analysis of the occurence and the use of insults in Czech and French with regard to translation equivalents

(in English) The bachelor's thesis examines and compares the occurrence and use of swearing in Czech and French. It is a theoretical-empirical work. In the first part, the author aims to define terms such as vulgarism, rude word, language taboo, curse and swearing and then tries to classify and describe them according to the actual state of research in the sphere of both languages. The second part is based on the data of a questionnaire survey, which is then analyzed in a socio-cultural context. In the last part of work, the author monitores the use of translation equivalents of secleted words with the help of corpora manager.
